Trick Your Metabolism
Trick Your Metabolism So Your Weight Loss Doesn't Hit A Plateau
If you are like most people, then you have tried a number of diets, with varying degrees of success. You probably have lost weight, until you get to a certain point, and then you don't lose any more, no matter what you do. This plateau that most people hit, is common with almost all diet plans. There is a new way of avoiding this plateau by trying to trick your metabolism.
You probably have already experienced this plateau, which will normally end the diet plan with lots of frustration. This is a strange phenomenon, which happens to successful dieters around the third or fourth week of their diet. Up until that point weight is coming off and then it just stops, and nothing works to keep the body losing weight. This is your body reacting to the changes you are putting it through. Your body goes into protection mode to prevent starvation, so it slows down your metabolism. What this ends up doing is stopping your body from losing any more weight.
This is what causes people to believe they are not capable of losing the weight they want, and they give up trying. At this point they go back to eating, and gaining their weight back plus even more than they lost usually. The way to stop this is by using a diet where you shift calories. What you are trying to do is eat a different number of calories each day, which is supposed to trick your metabolism. If this trick works on your body, then it doesn't get into the position where it is trying to protect itself. This keeps your body's metabolism working, instead of slowing down, and your body continues to lose weight. Once you get to this point, you have passed the plateau and your diet will keep working the way it was designed to.
It is pretty easy to integrate this type of plan into your everyday routine. One of the most popular methods of calorie shifting is the 14 day method. This program will go for 14 days, where you do the regular plan for 11 days, and then 3 days where you eat what you want. You rotate your foods throughout the day, tricking your metabolism, and for three day eat what you want, preventing the plateau. This also keeps you from getting frustrated at a strict regimen with your eating. You can keep doing these 14 days over and over until you are satisfied with your weight loss.
The 2 day plan is another way, where you eat regularly for one day, and the other day you cut your calories by 20% to 35%. You can keep doing this every two days for as long as necessary to get your weight off. This is a program that you should try, because it might be exactly what can get you past your plateau, to where you will lose all the weight you want.
